Playing a game with the minimum number required

I want to order a game but am worried about using only the minimum number of required guests. What are the benefits of maxing out the number of guests and are there detriments to only using the minimum?

There really are no detriments to using the minimum number of players. The optimum playing experience is using somewhere between the min and max, but min or max will still work well. This is why we set them. If there were any less, things would not work as well.
