Is it better to have a person who knows everything?

I'm thinking of purchasing this game for my 18th birthday party.
I'm new to this and I'm afraid things will go out of hand if I myself participate in the game and if guests have questions they cannot possibly turn to me.
I was wondering if it would be better if I had someone else read through everything and help the guests out when they are confused? Do you think that would be necessary?
I really really don't want things to get messed up at the party :(

I apologize for such a late reply. Personally, I always think a host should play, even if it is just a secondary character. If you follow the Host Guide and the list of things to do during the evening, then your party should run smoothly. I don't think reading everything will allow you to help anyone and all that would do is adversely effect your enjoyment. If you have read your Host Guide and your characters background instructions, then anything any guest would ask, you most likely will know.
